Vijay Rajagopal is the growth leader at Nugget, the agentic AI platform built inside Zomato, which he joined in August 2026 after leading AWS’s banking, financial services and fintech go-to-market in India as Country Head. His career runs across investing, fintech and enterprise technology. A chemical engineer from BITS Pilani with an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a CFA charter, he began in investment banking with ICICI Bank in Singapore, then spent six years as an investor at Aavishkaar and Peepul Capital, sitting on the boards of companies including Unibic Foods and 24 Mantra Organic. He moved to the operating side as a founding leader at Zeta, scaling it to around $1 billion in transaction volume, then led strategy and business development for PayPal’s cross-border payments business, ran fintech strategy at Quess Corp, and was founding COO at Zolve, a cross-border neobank for immigrants. At Amazon Pay, as head of the merchant payments business, he built a business of more than $2 billion in transaction volume and $50 million in revenue across UPI, wallet, EMI, Pay Later and cards. He is also an angel investor, based in Bengaluru.
