Farida Khan.
Chief Risk Officer, Crescent Capital
Farida Khan is Chief Risk Officer at Crescent Capital, where she commands the defence in what she calls the least fair fight in finance: forty million customers on one side, criminal crews with better release cycles than most banks on the other. She built her reputation dismantling one of the largest synthetic-identity rings ever uncovered, a three-year investigation that ended not with a biometric breakthrough but with the observation that real customers are boring in ways no generator has learned. Before Crescent she spent a decade in financial intelligence, seconded twice to national fraud task forces, and she remains the person regulators call when the acronyms stop making sense. Her doctrine of the 'friction budget', security as a finite currency of customer patience, is now taught in three business schools. She talks publicly about fraud because, in her words, silence only ever protects the other side.

“Real customers are boring in ways no generator has learned. What the fraudsters couldn't fake was boredom.”
